Darrell R. Wuertz

Darrell R. Wuertz, 83, of Washington, IN passed away on September 5, 2023. He was born on August 7, 1940, in Washington, IN to the late Roscoe and Hilda (Kidwell) Wuertz. Darrell graduated from Washington High School in 1960. He married the love of his life, Patricia Cone, on July 3rd. Darrell worked for Crane as a technician for 27 years before retiring.

In his early years, he enjoyed traveling the states with Patricia, camping, and founding the New Hope Christian Church. Darrell also enjoyed deer hunting, caring for his wife, fishing, spending time with his grandchildren, and spending time with his dog, Bear. He will be deeply missed.

Darrell was preceded in death by his parents; brother Lyle Wuertz; niece Melody Wuertz; nephew Roger Nowling; great-niece Jessica Wuertz.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia Wuertz; son Randy (Cortnea) Wuertz; grandchildren Drake (Valerie) Wuertz, Cecelia Wuertz, Ruby Wuertz; great-grandchildren Sophia, Brayden, and Matthew Wuertz; sister Doris Kane; sister-in-law Susie Wuertz; dog Bear; niece Rita Dyer; nephews Wesley Wuertz and Doug Kane; and many great nieces and nephews and cousins.

Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mr. Wuertz. Visitation will be held Wednesday, September 13, 2023, at 2020 State St. Washington from 10-11am. A celebration of life will be September 13, 2023, at 11am with burial at Bethany Cemetery immediately following.

Memorial donations can be made to the Daviess Co. Humane Society in Darrell's honor.
