Darryl D. Healy, 54, of Washington, IN, passed away with his family by his side on September 27, 2024, at the Linda E. White Hospice House in Evansville, IN.
He was born on April 2, 1970, to the late William L. Healy and Sherry (Colbert) Healy in Daviess County, IN.
Darryl was a 1988 graduate of Washington High School. He worked as a dragline operator for Peabody Coal for several years. He loved to go hunting and fishing, and also enjoyed riding his motorcycles on the weekends with his brother.
What he loved the most, was spending all of his time with his daughter MaKayla. All the trips to the park to play and in the winter, to sled. All the holidays, water parks, zoo’s, fishing and hunting, and teaching her how to drive. All the weekend getaways they took to St. Louis, and the Florida trips, from jet skiing in Panama City Beach to Disney World where she was a princess for a day. In Darryls eyes, Makayla was his princess every day.
What Darryl also really loved, was to ride horses with MaKayla, and to watch her ride in competitions. Darryl was so proud of her, and loved her more than life itself.
Survivors of Darryl include his daughter, MaKayla Rust of Holland, IN; his brother, Derrick (Patsy) Healy of Washington, IN; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents William and Sherry; and his brothers, William Healy Jr., and Darin Healy.
Family and friends may visit on October 2, 2024, from 2:00-8:00pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home 2020 State St., Washington, IN 47501. At the conclusion of visitation, a eulogy will be shared with Darryls family and friends. Per Darryl’s wishes, he will be cremated following all services.
