David Donaldson

David Adams Donaldson, 82, passed away at 1:54 am on January 15, 2014 at his residence. Dave was born on April 29, 1931 in Vincennes the son of Frank and Alice (Adams) Donaldson. He married Mollie Jordan on June 27, 1959 and she survives.Dave was a 1949 graduate of Wheatland High School. He served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. Dave joined Security Bank and Trust Co., in 1956 and worked in almost every department. He was named assistant cashier in 1962 and was later named assistant vice president in 1968. He was promoted to vice president in 1980 and retired from there after thirty-three years of service. He was president of the County Extension Council, a past director of Indiana Angus Association and a charter member of the Southwestern Indiana Agri-Bankers Association. Dave was also very active in the Knox County 4H Livestock auction. Dave regularly attended the First Church of God in Vincennes.Survivors include his wife, Mollie Donaldson of Vincennes; daughter, Angie Barmes and her husband Andy of Vincennes; son, Scott Donaldson and his wife Kim, grandchildren, Griffin Donaldson, Graham Donaldson, Grace Donaldson all of Kentucky, Kale Barmes and his wife Valerie of Vincennes, Evan Barmes and his wife Sunny of Vincennes, Conner Barmes of Vincennes, Lyndee Valenzuela and her husband Gil of Tennessee; and great grandchildren, Liam and Evelyn Valenzuela of Tennessee.Dave was preceded in death by his parents and one grandson, Nathan Andrew Barmes.Public graveside funeral services will take place at 11:00 am on Saturday in Memorial Park Cemetery. Burial will follow. There will be no visitation and Goodwin Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
