David L. Jones

David L. Jones, 79 of Vincennes passed away at 3:10 am Thursday, July 18, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital.He was born August 3, 1939 in Beach Grove, Kentucky to Luther W. and Eloise L. (Corum) Jones.David worked for McDonald's Corporate inhouse as he built many McDonald's in Washington and Oregon. When David moved backed to Vincennes, he retired from Vincennes University as a night clerk. A graduate of Lincoln High School, he served in the National Guard and was a member of the Ridgecrest Baptist Church. David enjoyed wood carving and antique cars.Surviving are his wife, Peggy (Sproat) Jones, whom he married on March 25, 1967; his mother, Eloise (Corum) Jones of Vincennes; his children, Susan Elliott of Seattle, Shelly Lischke and her husband Jason of Seattle, Jennifer Lee of Wheatland, and Jerry Jones and his wife Becky of Monroe City; nine grandchildren, Christopher Lee, Mollie Bilskie, Katie Bishop, Maisie Stafford, Tifty Courtney, Elsabet Lischke, Corban Lischke, Riddick Lischke, and Violet Lischke; nine great grandchildren; and his four sisters, Jane Ivers of Greencastle, Sharon Weiler of Vincennes, Janet Finke of Shawnee, Kansas, and Monica Boyles of Oak Brook, Illinois.He was preceded in death by his father.Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, July 20, 2019 at Ridgecrest Baptist Church with Walker Hatton officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 am until the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Diabetes Association at http://www.diabetes.org.
