David Reel

David L. Reel, 73, of Vincennes, passed away at Good Samaritan Hospital at 2:08 pm on Tuesday, April 6, 2021.He was born August 6, 1947 in Washington, Indiana to Fred and Virginia (Ogle) Reel.David worked in his earlier years as a hog farmer and for the National Farmers Organization. He later worked as a heavy equipment operator and for the coal mines before retiring from Cohn. David enjoyed shooting guns, hunting mushrooms, mowing his grass, and spending time with his family.David is survived by his wife Diana (Westfall) whom he married October 2, 1966; his loving children, April (Bill) Strange of Washington, Indiana and Fred (Angela) Reel of Oakland City, Indiana; brothers and sisters, Tom (Elizabeth) Reel of Columbia, Missouri, Jim (Betty) of Farfield, Iowa, Dwight (Marilyn) Earley of Odon, Indiana, Annie Reel of Elkhart, Indiana; his grandchildren, Jessi Brown, Dani Brown, James (Jourdyn) Brown, Emma Reel, C.J. Godwin, Gretchen Reel, and Bridget Reel; his great-grandchildren, Emmalyn Brown, Sarah Thovson, Payton Shoulders, Dawsyn Brown, and Daxtyn Brown. He was preceded in death are his parents Fred and Virginia (Ogle) Reel; son Specialist Jeffrey David Reel; brother Kenneth Reel; and a sister Virginia Reel.Friends may visit with David's family from 12:00 -2:00 on Friday, April 9, 2021, at the Indiana Presbyterian Church, 2431 S Lower Indiana Rd, Vincennes, Indiana 47591. Services will begin at 2:00 with Pastor Frank Harmon officiating. Burial will follow immediately after at Wildwood Cemetery. Memorial contributions can be made to Good Samaritan Hospice.
