Deborah Jean Young-Chesser, 69, of Indianapolis, IN, passed away on April 3, 2024, at IU West Hospital in Avon, IN. She was born on May 01, 1954, to the late Junior Lee Underhill and Wilma J. (Evans) Stevens in Vincennes, IN.
Deborah attended Lincoln High School. Following high school, she attended Nursing School at Vincennes University. She worked in shipping/receiving for America Trans Air and she helped in the warehouse section as well before her retirement.
In her spare time, she enjoyed watching racing and football. She especially loved the Dallas Cowboys and Jeff Gordon. She enjoyed doing arts and crafts and playing bingo. Deborah also enjoyed helping with the food drives when she lived at Jamestown Square in Vincennes. She loved to spend holidays at her sons’ house with the grandkids and enjoyed spending time with them any chance she had.
Survivors include her children, Quinn Anthony Young of Indianapolis, IN, and her daughter, Dawn Michelle Young; her grandchildren, Wade Craver, Tyler Craver, Dylan Young, Shayna Young, Kiera Young, Greer Young, Aerial Reynolds, and Kylie Young; her great-grandson, Grayson Reynolds; her siblings, Elmer Lee Underhill of Evansville, and Jimmie-Joe Underhill, her special niece and nephew, Shane Underhill and Kizzy Higgins; and several niece and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents Junior and Wilma; her brother, Edward Lee Underhill; her sisters, Cathy Higgins and Sandra Deleon; and her infant sister, Florence Underhill.
Services for Deborah will be private. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Deborah and her family.
