Diana K. Beard

Diana K. Beard, 69, of Decker Chapel, passed away at 9:50 am Tuesday, May 28, 2019 at Good Samaritan Hospital.She was born August 14, 1949 in Princeton, Indiana to Leslie and Norma (Self) Sullivan.Diana was a hairdresser for over 20 years and also was a dental assistant for Dr. Ellison and Dr. Whaley. She was a member of the Decker Chapel United Methodist Church, Women of the Decker Chapel United Methodist Church, and the American Veal Association. Diana was an avid gardener, enjoyed sewing, crafts, loved being around her grandchildren, and was always looking after the less privileged.Surviving are her husband; Jim Beard, whom she married on July 26, 1983; her children, Kim Hughes and her husband Jeff of Vincennes, Dan McCrary and his wife, Shelly of Wheatland, Chadd Beard and his wife Angie of Decker Chapel; and Bryce Beard and his wife Leslie of Decker Chapel; a brother Leslie Sullivan Jr. and his wife Karen of Tampa, FL; a sister, Lana Catt and her husband Richard of Washington; nine grandchildren, Mallory Hughes, Allie Lawrence, Raven McCrary, Walker McCrary, Lucas Beard, Kaitlyn Beard, Caroline Beard, Morgan Beard, and Makinley Beard; a great grandchild, Gunner Lawrence; and a special great niece, Heaven Smith.She was preceded in death by her parents; and a sister, Patricia Smith and her husband Gary.Memorial Services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday, June 1, 2019 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. Evelyn Owens officiating. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the start of the service. Memorial contributions may be made to the Decker Chapel United Methodist Church.
