Donald M. Friedmann, 80, of 3111 Old Bruceville Road, Vincennes, passed away at 8:00 a.m. Saturday, May 19, 2012 at Good Samaritan Hospital.Don was born January 10, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Howard and Clara (Ginesburg) Friedmann.He retired after 37 years as Director of Pharmacy at Good Samaritan Hospital and served on many hospital committees. Don received his B.S. in Pharmacy from Temple University, his M.S. in Hospital Pharmacy from the University of Southern California, and did his residency in Hospital Pharmacy in the Veterans Administration Hospital in Los Angeles, California. Don was affiliated with Butler University as Teaching Affiliate of Clinical Pharmacy and Purdue University as Assistant Professor of Clinical Pharmacy and Regional Coordinator of the Externship program. Don had served as President of the Knox County Society of Pharmacists, and was active in other pharmacist's societies. He belonged to the Elks, the Hadi Shrine, Masonic Lodge #1, and coached YMCA youth football for many years.Don served in the U.S. Army in which he was in charge of the Pharmacy Department at the U.S. Army Hospital in Fort Hood, Texas.Surviving is his wife, Kay (Like) Friedmann, whom he married July 24, 1959; three sons and their spouses, Mark and Jennifer Friedmann of Bloomington, Illinois, David and Andrea Friedmann of Newport News, Virginia, and Eric and Deb Friedmann of Fishers, Indiana; a sister, Ruth Lipkin of Fort Lauderdale, Florida; and his grandchildren, Nicholas, Caroline, Jacob, Claire, Jordan, and Jenna Friedmann.Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Wednesday May 23, 2012 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. Mike Julian officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until the service time on Wednesday.
