Don Clark

Don Clark, 94, of Vincennes, passed away Jan. 14, 2015 at Good Samaritan Hospital.Don was the area's best floor covering installer, working into his 80's. He was a kind hearted, gentle individual. His grandchildren, to whom he was dedicated, often came to him for his words of wisdom. His giving nature was a positive influence for many of the neighborhood children. Many people appreciated his sense of humor. Don also enjoyed helping with the Fun Unlimited Carnival, where he often sold tickets.Born May 20, 1920, in Odon, IN, he was the son of Vern and Mamie (Herndon) Clark. His parents; his wife of 65 years, Dorothy Jean (Elkins) Clark; brothers, Edmond, Paul, Guy, Jim, and Max Clark; sisters, Bonnie Sargent and Sue Taylor; and a granddaughter, Ashley Ann Clark, preceded him.Surviving are his children, Karen Fuller, and her husband, BD, of Vincennes, and Steve Clark, and his wife, Mary, of Flat Rock, IL; sisters, Dorothy Baker of Odon, IN, and Betty Coe, of Plainfield, IN; grandchildren, Shelly Provines, and her husband, Dan, of Vincennes, StaceyThompson, and her husband, Mark, of Brazil, IN, Tracey Graham, and her husband, David, of Bedford, IN, Steve Cobb, and his wife, Aline, of San Antonio, TX, Brittney Kirwer, and her husband, Brian, of Vincennes, Brook Fuller, and his wife, Holly, of Vincennes, Ethan Clark, and his wife, Whitney, of Flat Rock, IL, and Alex Clark of Flat Rock, IL; great-grandchildren, Carolina, Emily, and Anna Provines, Steven and Sarah Graham, Cade and Clara Thompson, Brady and Bennett Kirwer, Jackson and Addi Fuller, Ashlee Milburn, and Levi Cobb.Friends may visit with the family from 12:00 - 2:00 on Friday, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. The funeral will begin at 2:00, with interment following at Memorial Park Cemetery.Donations may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospital Hospice.
