Donald Dyson

Donald M. Dyson, 83, of 642 Manilla Street, Vincennes, passed away at 12:24 p.m. Wednesday November 5, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospital.He was born March 31, 1931 in Knox County to William and Flossie (McCord) Dyson. Don worked at McGiffen Dairy and then for Harold's for many years as store manager until his retirement in 1993. He then worked part time for Harold's and Jay C where he checked vendors and held other duties retiring again in 2012. A member of the First Church of God, he graduated from Monroe City High School in 1949 and enjoyed watching basketball, doing wood working, and remodeling. Don enjoyed being with his family and friends. Surviving is his son, Donald W. Dyson with his wife Patricia of Vincennes; his grandson, Tucker Dyson; his granddaughter, Samantha (Daniel) Palmer; and his great grandchildren, Gunner and Ryker Palmer; and a niece, Gail Dyson. Preceding Don in death were his parents; his wife, Ruth Dyson; and his brothers and sisters, Paul Dyson, Dale Dyson, Cliff Dyson, Bea Dyson, and Lee Dyson.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday November 8, 2014 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. Georg Karl officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 9:00 until service time Saturday. Memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospice.
