Donald Arthur Eaton, 84, passed away at 2:36 am on January 8, 2022, at Daviess Community Hospital. Don was born on July 24, 1937, in Washington and he was the son of Arthur C. and Myrtle (Tomey) Eaton. Don served his country in the United States Army and was a Washington City Police officer for sixteen years. He then went to work for IP & L and retired from there. Don was a member of the Washington Conservation Club and was an avid bow hunter and loved the outdoors. Survivors include his wife Sharon Eaton of Washington; son, Jon Eaton and his wife Pamela of Washington; daughter, Jeannie Eaton and her husband John Brummett of Washington; stepchildren, Corey Carnegie of Burns City, IN and Richard Carnegie of Richmond, VA; sister, Maejeanne Armstrong; his grandchildren, Patricia Godfrey, Tellina Mattingly and her husband Andrew, Zackary Eaton, Robert Brummett, Brynlee Carnegie, Corriyn Robinson, and seven great grandchildren. Don is preceded in death by his parents, sister. Doris Reddick, and infant brother, William Arthur Eaton. Friends may visit with Don's family from 11 am until the hour of service time of 3:00 pm on Wednesday, January 12, 2022, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State St., Washington, IN. There will be a graveside service held for Don at a date to be determined later. The Eaton family has requested memorial contributions be made to the Washington Conservation Club, 350 W. 150 S. or a charity of the donors choice in memory of Don. Washington, IN 47501.
