Donald G. Hoffhaus

January 18, 1940 — March 9, 2024

Donald G. Hoffhaus, a devoted husband, son, and esteemed member of the community, passed away on March 9, 2024, in Vincennes, Indiana, at the age of 84. Born in Huntingburg, Indiana, on January 18, 1940, Donald was a proud American citizen with a strong work ethic and a lifelong dedication to his family.


Throughout his life, Donald worked tirelessly as a Claims Adjuster in the insurance industry, embodying values of honesty and compassion in his profession. He was a respected member of the Dubois County Masonic Lodge #520 F & AM for 50 years, finding solace and camaraderie in his Masonic brothers. His commitment to community service extended to his membership in the Knox County Shriners (Vincennes), where he found great fulfillment in helping those in need. He was also a 50 year member of the Scottish Rights.


Donald's dedication to his faith was evident in his active participation at St. John's United Church of Christ, where he found comfort and support in his spiritual community. His love for his family was unwavering, as well as his devotion to his beloved spouse, Marjorie Hoffhaus.


Don is survived by his wife of 41 years, Marjorie (Lane) Hoffhaus of Vincennes, IN; his children, Chris Hoffhaus of Princeton, IN, and Mindy Burnfin of Princeton, IN; his grandchildren, Elizabeth Hoffhaus, Carbon Burnfin, and JaKaitlyn Kidd; and his brother, Ray Hoffhaus. He was preceded in death by his parents, Adam Hoffhaus and Marjorie (Krueger) Hoffhaus; and his grandson, Brandon Hoffhaus.


A vistation for Donald will be held on Saturday, March 16, 2024, from 11:00am-1:00pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St., Vincennes, IN 47591. A funeral service will follow vistation, promptly beginning at 1:00pm with Rev. George Ford officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions to be made to the Shriners Childrens Hospital. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored and privileged to be entrusted with the care of Don and his family.


Donald G. Hoffhaus will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all those whose lives he touched with his kindness and generosity. May his spirit continue to inspire us to live with integrity and compassion.
