Doris Lankford

Doris Ellen Lankford, Vincennes, past from this life to be with her Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ on Sunday evening October 19, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospital.Doris was born August 23 1926 in Knox County the daughter of Charles and Ella (Harting) Willis. Doris was a member of St. John Lutheran Church her entire life on this earth. She was a member of the Altar Guild for over forty five years and served as chairperson. Doris was married to Delbert C. Lankford on April 19, 1947 and he preceded her in death on November 21, 1994.Surviving are her daughter, Julie A. Reynolds of Evansville, and son's Paul E. and Michael J. Lankford of Vincennes. Also a sister Mildred Bringwald of Vincennes; ten grandchildren, Paul Lankford of Ft. Wayne, Leah Lankford of Los Angeles, CA, Ross Lankford of Nicholasville, KY, Hanna Reynolds, Mary Reynolds, Sara Reynolds all of Evansville, Ryan Watts of Vincennes, Jeffrey Watts of Terre Haute, Tyler Watts of Evansville and Manda Short of Carmel. Doris was preceded in death by her sisters Thelma Organ, Norma Helert, Wilma Teising, Esther Williams, Patricia Hunter and brothers, Loren and Roy Willis.Funeral services for Doris will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, October 23, 2014 at St. John Lutheran Church on 8th and Scott Streets in Vincennes, with the Rev. Ronald Maxwell officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be from 4-8 pm on Wednesday, October 22, 2014 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway.
