Dorotha Sharp

Dorotha Mae Wallace Sharp went home to be with the Lord, Thursday, June 15. She was born November 12, 1925 to Wesley and Mettie (Crabtree) Wallace. She was the only surviving child of four children born to her parents. She was a Rosie the Riveter during WW II, later a wife, mother and Granny. She was a lifelong member of Maumee General Baptist Church. She worked as a medical transcriber at Deaconess Hospital and a medical secretary at Mead Johnson. Her life was filled with music, flowers, reading, travel, pets, friends and family. In addition to her parents and siblings, Dorotha was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Don. She is survived by a daughter, Donna (David) Bosard of Newburgh, sons Tom (Jan) Sharp of San Diego and Joe Sharp of Crawleyville, as well as 5 grandchildren, Tommi-Jo (Bill) Hayes of Jacksonville, Fl, Jessica (Michael) Winstead of San Diego, Cory (Jennie) Sharp of San Diego, Lacie Sharp of Owensville and Casey (Brooke) Sharp of Evansville, along with 11 great-grandchildren, her brother in law, Jim Sharp of Evansville, cousins, nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held from 10:00 am until 1:00 pm at Maumee General Baptist Church on Monday, June 19, followed by the service beginning at 1:00 pm. Burial will be at Oak Grove Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Oak Grove Cemetery, 1344 Stonehaven Circle, Boonville, IN 47601.
