Dorothy Eddleman

Dorothy J. Eddleman, 93, of Vincennes, IN went to be with the Lord August 3, 2023. She was born in Vincennes, IN on September 29, 1929 to late Thomas H. and Belva M. (Robinson) Longest. Dorothy graduated from Lincoln High School in 1948. She married, the love of her life, Cleo Eddleman on December 22, 1951. Dorothy worked for 30+ years for the Vincennes Community School Corporation in the cafeteria proudly serving lunches to all her students. She was a member of Community Church, Thursday Church and Mt. Lebannon Church.

Dorothy was a strong independent woman who loved spending time with her family and friends. She was a regular at bingo and loved getting together with her friends to play hand and foot. Dorothy was also a member of the YMCA, where up until the recent years could be found with the Silver Sneakers group. She enjoyed shopping, reading, and working on the plastic canvas, but her favorite thing to do was getting together with her family. She will be deeply missed.

Dorothy was preceded in death by her parents; husband of 65 years Cleo Eddleman; daughter and son-in-law Sue and Chris Petelle; son-in-law Evan Cox; daughter-in-law Deborah Eddleman; infant sister Mary Ellen Longest; siblings Virginia Cook, Carolyn (Emmett) Blubaum, Bob (Neva) Longest; brother-in-law Bob Shidler.

She is survived by her children Debbie Cox, Louie Eddleman, Rusty (Pamela) Eddleman; 11 grandchildren; 20 great-grandchildren; 2 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held Monday, August 7, 2023, at 10-1pm at Community Church. A funeral service will be Monday, August 7, 2023, at 1pm with burial at Memorial Park immediately following.
