Dorothy Lagle

Dorothy Adaline (Williams) Lagle, 93, formerly of Wheatland, IN and Colonial Assisted Living, passed away November 12, 2015. Dorothy graduated from Wheatland High School in 1942. She worked at the parachute factory in Washington, IN, during WWII. For 28 years, she worked at Uniroyal, and retired from Nasco in 1982, after 5 years there. A member of the Wheatland United Methodist Church, she was a 32 year member of the Order of the Eastern Star in Monroe City. Born in Wheatland on Sept. 18, 1922, Dorothy was the daughter of Sam and Virgie (Snider) Williams. Her parents; her husband, Merlin A. Lagle, whom she married June 5, 1949; her sister, Nadine Harrell; and her brother, Vincent Snider preceded her. Surviving is her daughter, Diana Vee Updike and her husband, Kelly of Vincennes; her grandson, Nicholas Updike of Owensboro, KY; and her granddaughter, Natalie Updike of Morgantown, WV, survive. Friends may visit with Dorothy's family from 11:00 - 1:00 on Tuesday, at Goodwin Funeral Home. Her memorial service will begin at 1:00, and interment will follow in the Wheatland Cemetery.
