Dorothy Laib
July 11, 1930 — October 24, 2023
Dorothy Laib, 93, of Owensville, IN passed away with her nephew, David by her side on October 24, 2023. She was born in Owensville, IN on July 11, 1930, to Ernest and Mabel (Lefler) Douglas. Dorothy attended Owensville High School and was a graduate of the 1949 class. She married Doyne Laib on December 22, 1956. Dorothy was a member of the General Baptist Church in Owensville.
In her free time, Dorothy grew the most beautiful African Violets and she often tried to teach others how to care for them. She also enjoyed sewing and solving jigsaw puzzles. She will be deeply missed.
Dorothy is preceded in death by her parents; husband Doyne; siblings Lloyd (Emma) Douglas, Harold (Lois) Douglas, Margaret (Dwayne) Yeager, Charles Douglas passing as a toddler, Darrell (Dorothy) Douglas, Jerry (Edna) Douglas, Virginia (Walter) Taylor, Kenneth (Mary) Douglas.
She is survived by several nieces and nephews.
Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Mrs. Laib. Visitation will be held November 1, 2023, from 10-11am at General Baptist Church in Owensville. A funeral service will be held at 11am with a burial at Clark Cemetery immediately following.
