Dorothy Melvin, 84, of Vincennes, IN, passed away November 11, 2012, at Good Samaritan Hospital. Born January 7, 1928, in Robards, KY, she was the daughter of Emory and Mattie (Crowder) King. Her parents preceded her, along with her husband, Joseph D. Melvin; her daughter, Donna McGavic; a son, Jospeh Melvin II; a brother, Leon King; and her sister, Mary Frances Hurt. Surviving is her daughter, Barbara (Michael) Early; a son-in-law, Virgil McGavic; her grandchildren, Joseph Melvin III, Virgil McGavic II, and Tonya Sutton; and her great-grandchildren, Zac McGavic, Abbi McGavic, Jaclyn Sutton, Joshua Melvin and Ashley Melvin. Dorothy was a daycare provider, and a member of the Church of Christ. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday, at 1:00, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. Visitation will be from 11:00
