Dorothy Williams, 78, of 1013 Perry Street, Vincennes, IN, passed away March 20, 2011 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Born Oct. 24, 1932 in Effingham, IL, she was the daughter of James A. & Fern (Hingston) Woods. Her parents preceded her, as well as 4 brothers, 1 sister, 1 granddaughter, and 1 grandson. Survivors include her husband, George "Nick" Williams; her children, Alice Hayes of Mt. Vernon, IN, Jim Evans of Vincennes,IN, D. Jean Glassford of Indianapolis, IN, Carl Evans of Vincennes, IN, Theresa Hitt of Rocklin, CA, and Dee Hardig of Louisville, KY; a sister, Mary Wood of Michigan; a brother, Earl Woods, of Pollock Pines, CA; 18 grandchildren; and 28 great-grandchildren. Dorothy had worked at Progress Laundry, Dixie Orchard, and for many years, she cleaned homes. She was a cancer survivor, and a longtime member of Cornerstone Ministries. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 23, at Goodwin Funeral Home, from 5:00 - 8:00. Funeral services will be held at Cornerstone Ministries, 4370 N. Highway 41, Vincennes, on Thursday at 1:00, with Rev. Don Smith officiating. Interment will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery.
