Dottie I. Moore, 72, passed away at 6:49 pm on March 5, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Dottie was born on February 4, 1942 in Bruceville, IN the daughter of Noble and Dortha (Harmon) Johnson. Dottie married James Moore on September 11, 1960 and he survives.Dottie was a member of the First Church of the Nazarene where she was Sunday School Secretary. She loved her church and her church family, doing a lot of church ministries for over forty years. She was a collector of antiques and owned and formerly operated the New Blue Goose Fabric Shop in Bruceville. Dottie enjoyed oil painting, ceramics, quilting, and was an accomplished seamstress. She was a caregiver to many and enjoyed making birthday and get well cards. Dottie loved life and loved the saying, "Life Is Good."Survivors include her husband of fifty-three years, James Moore of Bruceville; daughters, Julie Gornall and her husband Ed of Vincennes; Gwen Houpey and her husband Scott of Vincennes; grandchildren, Austin and Ali Houpey; brothers, Larry Johnson and his wife Jana of Bloomington, IN; Morris Johnson and his wife Sheila of Vincennes. Dottie was preceded in death by her parents.Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, March 8, 2014 at the First Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Mike Taylor and Pastor John Moreland officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with Dottie's family from 4-8 pm on Friday, March 7, 2014 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the First Church of the Nazarene.
