Dr. Lyle L. Dake
February 8, 1938 — December 7, 2023
Dr. Lyle L. Dake, 85, of Lawrenceville, IL went to be with his Heavenly Father on December 7, 2023. He was born February 8, 1938, in Vinton, IA to the late J. Harold and Erma Grace (Reid) Dake. He attented Vinton High School and was a graduate of the 1956 class. Lyle married, the love of his life, Marilyn White on April 25, 1957. He proudly served his country in the United States Navy for 20 years and retired as a Musician Master Chief Petty Officer. Once retired, Lyle continued his career as a Trust Officer/VP for American National Bank, teaching college business courses at several colleges, and serving as interim pastor for churches across Indiana. He also served on Knox Co. Rotary Club.
Lyle was preceded in death by his parents; siblings Darrel (Katherina) Dake, Darlene (Glenn) Krug, and Larry Dake.
He is survived by his wife, of 66 years, Marilyn Dake; children Monica Durham, Melanie DeMaria, Joel Dake, Stephen (Kimberly) Dake; grandchildren Jesse (Vicky) Durham, Taylor Dake, Cooper Dake; great-grandchildren Noah Durham and Camden Carr; sister-in-law Anne Dake; and many nieces and nephews.
Goodwin-Sievers is honored to be entrusted with the care of Dr. Dake.
