Edgar Herbert Brocksmith, 73, of 5555 N Old 41, passed away at 1:15 p.m. on March 1, 2014 at his residence.He was born April 30, 1940 in Washington, Indiana to Edgar W. and Ruth (Sullivan) Brocksmith.Herbert had worked at Hamilton Glass, owned and operated Joice Sheet Metal and Roofing and also Brocksmith Dog Grooming for over 30 years. His memberships included the Lions Club of Vincennes, Jaycess, Bicknell Elks, Harmony Society, Vincennes Chamber of Commere, Monroe City Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, and The Camp Arthur Foundation where he had served as president. He graduated in 1958 from Freelandville High School, attended Vincennes University, and served in the Air Force from 1960-1965. One of his favorite enjoyments was copper fabrication.Surviving is his wife, Sandra (Kirk) Brocksmith of Vincennes; a son, Brian Keith Brocksmith of Vincennes; a daughter, Cathy Ann (Russ) Ellingwood of Waynetown, IN; a sister, Marilyn "Dodie" (Dick) Coulter; a half sister, Gale Brocksmith; a half brother, Gary Brocksmith; a step sister, Beverly )Dallas) Snider; two brother in-laws , Mark (Jian) Kirk and Jeff (Janice) Kirk; a sister in- law, Penny Kirk; a grandson, Samuel Ellingwood and a step grandchild, Lee Ellingwood.Graveside services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday, March 7, 2014 in the Memorial Park Cemetery with Rev.
