Edgar Fisher, 85, of Vincennes, passed away Nov. 11, 2014, at his home. He was retired from the United States Postal Service, where he had worked in the office and as a letter carrier. During the Korean War, Edgar served in the Air Force, and was stationed in Japan. His memberships included the First Church of the Nazarene, the American Legion and the VFW. Born March 25, 1929, in Keensburg, IL, he was the son of Daniel Edgar and Ida Mae (Grissom) Fisher.His parents preceded him, as well as four brothers and six sisters, his son, Gary Fisher, and his lifelong friend, Dee Parker. Surviving is his daughter, Joni Stigers of Vincennes; a daughter-in-law, Ruth Fisher of Vincennes; grandchildren, Michael Stigers, Aaron Stigers and his wife, Candiss, Phillip Stigers, Cresta Catiller and her husband, Gilbert, Michelle Paris, Brandi Nickless and her husband, Ken, and Michael Fisher and his wife Elizabeth; and his great-grandchildren, Juliet Stigers, Gracie Catiller, Zach Nickless, Katelyn Fisher, and Colton Fisher. The family will receive friends on Sunday, from 2:00 - 6:00, at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. A funeral service, conducted by Rev. Garret Sloan, will be held on Monday, at the funeral home, at 10:30. Interment will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Online condolences may be sent to the family through goodwinfamilyfh.com.
