Edna Ahlf

E. Halene Ahlf, 96, of Vincennes, passed away on April 1, 2013, at BridgePointe Health Campus. She was born August 27, 1916, in Wayne County, Illinois, to Elson and Irene (Barnes) Fitch. Her parents preceded her, as well as her husband, H.K. Ahlf; a nephew, James Winn; and three sisters, Luella Winn, Genevie Vaught, and Dortha Powell. Surviving are nieces, Anne Patton and Janet Powell; a nephew, Robert Winn; and her cousin, Richard and Bonnie Roos of Lamar, Indiana. Halene had worked as an accountant at Packaging Corp. for fifteen years. She was a member of St. John's United Church of Christ and the Christian Women Connections. A volunteer at Good Samaritan Hospital since 1967, she delivered Meals on Wheels, and helped on the Blood Mobiles. A funeral service will be conducted by Rev. Dr. Kate Lambertson at the Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, on Saturday, at 12:00. The family will receive friends from 9:00-12:00 on Saturday.
