Edna Byrd

Edna A. Byrd, 96, of 11 East Eberwine, Vincennes, passed away at 5:20 a.m. Saturday, June 1, 2013 at the Lodge of the Wabash.She was born March 21, 1917 in Reynolds, ND to Gunder & Ragnild (Severnson) Christianson.She had worked at Brown Shoe Factory, Alice Town, Grants, and for Bob Cullison. She was a member of the Bethlehem General Baptist Church, She enjoyed reading spiritual books. Surviving are her children, Joneta (Elmer) Underhill of Evansville, Jackie (Gerald) Midkiff of Bridgeport, Joy Byrd of Vincennes, and John (Sherry) Byrd Jr. of Princeton, 11 grandchildren, and several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John Byrd, whom she married November 15, 1941, a son, Bruce Malen, a daughter, Carol "Jeannie" Lovellette, eight brothers, two sisters, and two grandchildren.Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Tuesday June 4, 2013 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Pastor Peter White officiating.
