Effie Conrad

Effie M. Conrad, 86, of Vincennes, and formerly of Wheatland, IN, passed away Jan. 29, 2013 at Good Samaritan Hospital. She retired from Good Samaritan Hospital on Nov. 22, 1988, where she had worked as a nurse's assistant since 1964. Effie received her nurse's training at the hospital after she graduated from Wheatland High School in 1944. She was a member of the Wheatland Christian Church. Born Nov. 8, 1926 in Wheatland, Effie was the daughter of Fred, Sr. and Ruth (Weibel) Long. They preceded her, along with her husband, Bertie Conrad, whom she wed on June 1, 1969, and he passed way on Dec. 21, 2001; sisters, Mary Hannah and Norma Wygal; and a brother, Fred Long, Jr. Surviving are her children, Ruth E. Hunter of Vincennes, Daniel J. Adams of Mulberry, IN, and Charles E. Adams of Indianapolis, IN; a brother, Bill Long of Wheatland; and seven grandchildren. A funeral service will be conducted by Pastor Brent Cramer on Saturday, at 11:00, at Goodwin Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 9:00
