Eileen Marie McAllister, better known as Jeanie, 87, passed away at the Linda White Hospice House on March 15, 2025 surrounded by her loving family. Jeanie was born on July 30, 1937 in Knox County and she is the daughter of Delbert and Goldie (Donovan) McCord. She married Robert McAllister on July 20, 1958 and he preceded her in death on November 27, 2024.
Jeanie graduated from Decker High School in 1955 and worked as a billing clerk at Knox County REMC retiring in 1997. She took six years off to be a stay at home mom. She volunteered at local elementary schools helping to teach children to read, aiding them with reading comprehension and passing AR goals. She also volunteered at the welcome center and nursery at First Church of God in Vincennes. She was a devoted Christian, who's serving heart never quit. She spread the love and joy of Jesus every where she went including touching many of the nurses, staff, and other residents at Hamilton Pointe Rehab Facility following her stroke in May of 2023. Jeanie was also the Treasurer for the Vincennes Food Pantry and she loved being a Nana. Jeanie had many hobbies, and some of those were growing beautiful flowers, canning, spending time with her grandchildren, long walks, especially in the sunshine, sitting on her front porch and watching Wheel of Fortune.
Survivors include her daughter Suzanne Theriac and her husband Ed of Newburgh, IN; her grandchildren, Nicole Theriac and her husband Shawn Pemberton, Cameron Theriac and his wife Cassandra; great grandchildren, Aurora Sturgeon and Cheyenne Theriac; several nieces, nephews and cousins and her brother-in-law, CB Vories. Jeanie is preceded in death by her parents, Delbert and Goldie McCord, husband Robert McAllister, and her siblings, Marjorie Vories, Ora Harris (brother-in-law Donnie Harris) Ed McCord, Maurice McCord and her nephew Justin Vories.
Friends may visit with Jeanie's family from 4-8 pm est on Friday, March 21, 2025 at First Church of God, 1408 E. St. Clair St. Vincennes, IN 47591. Jeanie's funeral service will be held at 10:00 am est on Saturday, March 22, 2025 at First Church of God with Pastor Will Huebner officiating. Jeanie will be laid rest next to her husband Bob in Memorial Park Cemetery. Online memories may be shared with Jeanie's family and friends at www.goodwinsieversfh.com.
