Elisabeth Bartlett

Pauline Elisabeth Ruble Bartlett (Ibby), passed away at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 20, 2011 in Vincennes. She was born May 29, 1927 to Virgil R. and Rosemary G. Ruble in Selma, Indiana. Her parents preceded her in death. Mrs. Bartlett graduated from Selma High School and Ball State Teachers College.Ibby married Dr. Donald T. Bartlett on August 31, 1947 and they were married fifty-two years before his death. She resided in Vincennes, IN from 1957 to the present. She taught high school English at Ellettsville, IN and she was a substitute teacher in the Vincennes Community School Corporation. She was the executive assistant to the Adjutant General of the National American Legion in Indianapolis, IN. Ibby also was a member of the Knox County Medical Auxillary, where she had served as president, Alpha Omicron Chapter of Psi Iota Xi, Alpha Sorority and Ball State Alumnae Association.Survivors include her children, Timothy D. Bartlett (Kim) and Ann Bartlett Hannoy (Doug); brother-in-law, James B. Bowers of Anderson, IN; grandchildren, Mackenzie Smith Maloney (Scott), Talmage Bartlett, Carson Smith, Kelsey Bartlett, Grace Hannoy and Claudia Hannoy; nieces and nephews, Jama Bowers, Jill Parker (Fred), Jeff Bowers, Don Weir (Sherry), Nancy Bartlett, Patricia Painter (Mike), Tom Bartlett and Richard Weir.She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Claudia Bartlett Smith and sister, Virginia "Jinny" Bowers.All services will be private, per her wishes.In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Good Samaritan Hospital Foundation, 520 S. 7th St., Vincennes, IN 47591.Online condolences may be sent through www.goodwinfamilyfh.com
