Elizabeth Wheeler

Elizabeth J. Wheeler, 93, formerly of Vincennes, passed away at Robin Run Village in Indianapolis on Tuesday, January 28, 2020.She was born December 11, 1926 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania to Victor and Ann (Linker) Mitchell.Elizabeth was a member of the St. Andrew Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis and the Indiana Presbyterian Church in Vincennes. Elizabeth and her husband Rev. James T. Wheeler were involved in many community events in Vincennes while he was minister at the church.Surviving are her children Margaret Ruth Freeman of Vincennes, Stewart Douglas Wheeler of Vincennes, Rev. Scott Thomas Marrese-Wheeler and his wife Rev. Staci Marrese-Wheeler of McFarland, WI, Ann Elizabeth "Beth" Groves and her husband Howard of Indianapolis, and Greer Lane Wheeler and his wife Penny Ann of Olive Branch, Mississippi; a sister Barbara Penrod of Jerome, PA; and his grandchildren Amy Sue Keller, Tina Marie Williams, Angela Lynn Helderman, Heath Eugene Groves, Samantha Madison, Hunter James Groves, Brittany Hodges, Samuel Vincent Marrese Wheeler, Vincenzio Jaxon Wheeler, Harley Ann Wheeler, and Gianna Lane Wheeler; along with several great grandchildren and great great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Rev. James T. Wheeler; and her brothers Marvin Mitchell, Richard Mitchell, and Walt Mitchell.A Celebration of Elizabeth's life will be at 5:00 pm Monday, February 3, 2020 at Indiana Presbyterian Church.
