Elizabeth Wonning

Elizabeth J. "Betty" Wonning, 92, of Vincennes, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2019 at River Oaks in Princeton, Indiana seven days short of her 93rd birthday.She was born October 3, 1926 in Vincennes, Indiana to Royce and Lauren (Kensler) Turbett.Betty was a homemaker and a partner on the family farm. A member of the St. Peter Lutheran Church, she enjoyed playing cards and watching sports, especially basketball and the St. Louis Cardinals.Surviving are her children, Randa Brown and her husband David of Princeton, Teresa Miller and her husband Roger of New Castle, Robert Brad Wonning and his wife Diane of Vincennes, and Suzanne McCurdy and her husband Larry of Richmond; a brother Darwin Turbett of Vincennes; her grandchildren, Julie Holzmeyer and her husband Jayme, Chad Brown, Aimee Day and her husband Steve, Jamie Alexander and her husband Matt, Scott Miller and his wife Amanda, Brandon Miller, Lindsey Morrison and her husband Joe, Audra Cary, Jeff Wonning and his wife Angela, Alan Wonning and his wife Caitie, Lee Swihart, and Allison Swihart and her fiance Josh Clark ; and several great grandchildren.She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Carl Robert Wonning, whom she married on September 15, 1946 and preceded her on March 6, 2005; two sisters, Helen Newell and Irma Johnson; a grandson Brian Swihart; a great granddaughter Candice Cary.Funeral Services will be held on Noon Monday, September 30, 2019 at St. Peter Lutheran Church with Rev. Nathan Rastl officiating. Friends may visit from 10:00 am until the time of the service. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.
