Bill Fisher, 94, passed away on Friday, November 29, 2013 at the Lodge of the Wabash. Bill was born on April 7, 1919 in Washington, Indiana the son of John and Ella (Grubb) Fisher. Bill married Mae (Vida) Jewell on December 2, 1958 in Vero Beach, Florida and she preceded him in death on October 25, 1997.Bill served his country during WW II in the Armed Forces of the United States. He was a Private first Class in the Antitank Company 260th Infantry Regiment having been honorably discharged from the Army on July 25, 1945. Bill was a self-employed concrete and block finisher. He was a fisherman, loved to play cards and dance, and was a member of the Veteran of Foreign Wars and American Legion.Survivors include his children, son, Howard Elmer Fisher of Lakeland, FL; daughter, Lili Marlene Flynn of Chicago, IL; son, Billy Joe Fisher of Hampton, GA; seven grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren, son-in-law, John Mineo of Indianapolis, IN and companion Freida Hurst of Vincennes. Preceding Bill in death were his parents, wife, Mae Fisher; son, Bob Vida, daughter Jeanne (Jewell) Mineo, brothers, Clarence (Fuzzy) Fisher; Ted Fisher; Louis Fisher; and sisters, Anna Belle Hancock; Zelma Smith and Pearl Fisher.Funeral services for Bill will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, December 3, 2013 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway with Rev. Robert Tipton officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with Bill's family from 10:00 am until the hour of service time of 12:00 pm Tuesday at the funeral home.
