Elsie Burns Sandefur

Elsie Burns Sandefur, 83, passed away at 3:18 am on October 18, 2023, at The Villages at Oakridge. Elsie was born on April 5, 1940, in Hebbardsville, KY and she is the daughter of James and Hattie (Wood) Burns.

Elsie is of the Baptist Faith and a born-again Christian. She worked for over forty-five years for Harland and Company and retired as Human Resource Manager. Elsie loved animals of all kinds and enjoyed collecting elephants. She was a very giving and outgoing person, always upbeat with a very good sense of humor.

Survivors include her nieces and primary caregivers, Sharon Cullen and her husband Stephen of Washington, IN, Karen Robbins and her husband Ralph of Cumming, GA; sister, Betty Sandefur of Washington, IN; several other nieces and nephews and a close friend Pat Walkup of Nashville, TN. Elsie is preceded in death by her parents, her son, Glenn Sandefur and siblings, Gladys Seidel, Barbara Kelley, Jack Burns and twin brothers Donald and Ronald Burns.

A Celebration of Life Service for Elsie will be held from 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm est on Sunday, October 29, 2023, at Aces Restaurant, 908 Bedford Road, Washington, IN 47501.
