Emma Anderson

Emma Janet "Jan" Anderson, 75, 7330 Oak Knoll Drive, Indianapolis, passed away at 7:53 p.m. on Sunday, October 9, 2011 at Memorial Hospital in Jasper. Born September 22, 1936, in Island, KY, she was the daughter of James and Minnie Lu (Pate) Taylor.Jan retired from American-Newlong, Inc. as the Chief Financial Officer. She attended Capital City Baptist Church, was a member of Lynhurst Eastern Star and enjoyed camping, fishing and outdoor recreation.Survivors include her son, Scott Anderson and his wife, Kelly, of Monroe City; daughter, Sarah Beth DeMent and her husband, Doug, of Connecticut; five grandchildren, Briston Anderson, Kearston Anderson, Jackie DeMent, Stephanie DeMent and Matthew DeMent. She is also survived by three Nieces: Becky Akers, Linda Genrich and Rachele Taylor. Three Nephews: Jimmy, Michael and Steven Taylor and several great and great great nieces and nephews. Preceding Jan in death were her parents and brother, Gayle Taylor.Funeral services will be held Friday, October 14 at 2:00 p.m. at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St. Interment will follow in Goodwill Cemetery in Loogootee.
