Emma Pearl Bright, died on Tuesday, March 29, 2011. Emma was born on October 13, 1923, to Walter C. Williams and Neva (Shine) Williams in New Albany, Indiana. She married George A. Bright, Sr. on August 19, 1939. They were married for more than 70 years before George died on July 19, 2010.Emma is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and Doyle Antley of Vincennes and Diana and Dan Robinson of Wheatland; brother, Roy Brandt of New Albany; grandchildren, Keith Scheirmann, Krista Scheirmann Morgan, Amanda Scheirmann Wininger, Shelly Bright Roark, Jennifer Bright Case, Angela Bright, Jay Robinson, Joe Robinson, Chantel Mikiska, Joe Mikiska, Jessica Bright and Aubry Bright. Also surviving are sixteen great-grandchildren, one great-great-granddaughter, twenty-seven nieces and nephews and extended family.She was preceded in death by son and daughter-in-law, George A. Bright, Jr. and Janet Bright, a son, John J. Bright (survived by wife, Suzanna), daughter, Angela Rae Mikiska (survived by husband, Steve), three grandsons, M. Brad Scheirmann, Michael Bright and Daniel Mikiska, two brothers and one sister.Emma loved family gatherings, especially at Spring Mill State Park and holiday celebrations. She was an avid sports fan with special admiration for Bobby Knight and IU basketball. She was the original Mama Bear when it came to her children and grandchildren, and always encouraged them to be their best and learn as much as possible. She was loved and will be missed by all.Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on Friday, April 1 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway St. Funeral services will be at 1:00 p.m. with Ron Barnes officiating.
