Esther Mccracken

Esther M. McCracken, 80, of 2006 Prospect Ave., Vincennes, passed away at 12:50 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospital with her husband and daughter at her side.She was born October 12, 1934 in Shoals, Indiana to Cresy Evans Sr. and Mae (Collins) Evans.Esther was a medical technologist at Good Samaritan Hospital and later for Dr. Smith, Dr Hendrix, and Dr. Hedde. A Fritchton High School graduate, she also graduated from Vincennes University and the Good Samaritan Hospital School of Medical Technology. She attended Community United Methodist Church and enjoyed wintering in Florida and spending summers at Kentucky Lake. Esther loved her flowers, gardening, and spending time with her grandsons.Surviving is her husband, Larry McCracken, whom she married March 17, 1957; her daughter and son in law, Janice and Patrick O'Brien of Greenwood; two sisters, Izetta Edmondson and Jean Wampler, both of Vincennes; one brother, Cresy Evans Jr. of Wheatland; and her two grandsons, Scott and Matthew O'Brien. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, October 18, 2014 at Community United Methodist Church with Rev. Cheryl Garbe officiating. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery.
