Eugene Sanders

Eugene E. Sanders, 88, passed away 6:15 am on December 31, 2014 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Eugene was born on October 1, 1926 in Vincennes, the son of William and Maddie Marie (Boyd) Sanders. He married Rose Bass on August 20, 1955 and she survives.Eugene served his country in the United States Air Force and retired after twenty years of service as a Air Evac Specialist. He then worked at the Packaging Corporation of America for several years before his retirement. Eugene was a member of the VFW and 40 et 8 and enjoyed hunting and fishing.Survivors include his wife, Rose Sanders of Vincennes; sons, Eugene Sanders, Jr. of Vincennes, Roger Sanders and his wife Kathleen of Mascoutah, IL, Brian Sanders of Mascoutah, IL; daughters, Belinda Cook and her husband, Gary of Francisco, IN, Yolanda Lane of Vincennes; brother, Albert Sanders of Seattle, WA, nephew, Robert Street of Vincennes; seventeen grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. Eugene was preceded in death by his sisters, Marie Street, Viola Foster, Dorie Abel and brothers, George and John Sanders.Funeral services for Eugene will be held at 1:00 pm on Saturday, January 3, 2015 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery. Friends may visit with Eugene's family from 11:00 am until the hour of service time of 1:00 pm at the funeral home on Saturday. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the VFW of Vincennes.
