Evelyn Upton

Evelyn (Barger) Upton, 60, of Vincennes, IN passed away January 8, 2022. She was born in Hazard, KY on June 7, 1961 to the late Leroy Barger and Della Bowling. Evelyn attended Austin High School. She married, the love of her life, Gene Upton on December 9 1983. Evelyn was a member of the 281 Moose Lodge. She was a shift manager at the local grocery store, JayC, for the last 10 years. Evelyn was known for loving life music and attending concerts, especially Rick K. and the All Nighters. She also was a huge fan of the Indianapolis Colts. She spent many years at the Cub League concession stand and loved spending time with her grandchildren. Evelyn was preceded in death by her parents, step-father Cleveland Bowling; brother Carl Barger. She is survived by her husband, of 38 years, Gene Upton; children Stacy Upton, Jamie (David) Goff, Christy Bradley, Cleveland (Jessica) Upton, Daniel Upton; siblings Ruthie Spicer, Elmer (Jewell) Barger, Marion Barger, Benny Barger; grandchildren Barrett, Keziah, Griffith, Ophelia Upton, Daxton Kizer, Emilie Keltz, Faith Gallaher, Chris (Jenni) Graham, Stephanie Gilbert, Stacia Rice; great-granchildren Ava Brown, Abigail Ashby; and many nieces and nephews. Goodwin-Sievers is honored and entrusted with the care of Mrs. Upton. Visitation will take place January 12, 2022 from 3-7pm at Goodwin-Sievers.
