Evia Adams

Evia Imogene (Stewart) Adams, 95, of Monroe City, IN finished her earthly race on November 27, 2022, to go to her heavenly home with the Lord. She was born in Monroe City, IN on September 11, 1927, to the late Isaac and Helen (Willis) Stewart. Imogene attended Monroe City High School and graduated in 1945. She then met the love of her life, Berl E. Adams, and married him on September 7, 1948. Evia loved the Lord and was a devoted Christian. She was a proud member of Hamlin Chapel Church, missionary society, and Sunday school teacher for 65 years. Imogene worked as the church treasurer for the Nazarene Church in Lowell, IN for many years. She enjoyed many things in life such as sewing, gardening, crocheting, canning, reading, quilting, and spending time with her family. Imogene will be deeply missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband Berl E. Adams and son William; siblings Edman Stewart, Catherine Nelson, and Nancy Cox; grandsons Billy Brockus and Brock Pelham; and son-in-law Tim F. Carroll. Imogene is survived by her children Evelyn (John) Luzzi of Hobart, IN, Helen Carroll of Linton, IN, Rosalie (John) Hedge of Vincennes, IN, Sandra Hittle of Indianola, IA, Berl L. (Diane) Adams of Church Point, LA, Tamer (Wendy) Adams of Monroe City, IN, and Darrell (Jeanne) Adams of Monroe City, IN; 32 grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; 4 great-great-grandchildren; sister Virginia Flory; and many nieces. Nephews, and cousins. Goodwin-Sievers is honored and entrusted with the care of Mrs. Adams. Visitation will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at Community United Methodist Church from 10-11am. A funeral service will be held Wednesday, November 30, 2022, at 11am. Burial at Hamline Chapel will follow immediately. Memorial Contributions can be made to St. Judes Children's Hospital or Susan G. Komen in her honor.
