Floyd Overbey

Floyd "Lynn" Overbey passed away from this life on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at the age of 85 in Vincennes, Indiana. He was born on Saturday, May 2, 1936, in Advance Missouri. Those left to cherish his memories include his wife of 63 years Janet McGavic Overbey, daughter Anita Lauder husband Randall, son Brian Overbey wife Sandra, four grandchildren Lyndsay Robbins fianc Dennis Vickers, Ashlay Sidwell husband Cody, Jessika Eiss husband Tom, Paul Michael Cary wife Stevee, nine great grandchildren Layden Robbins, Clay Eiss, Bristol Eiss, Weston Eiss, Eli Cary, Bryson Lauder, Tye Cary, Khy Cary, David Vickers, one sister Edna Rose Collins along with numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his father Earl Noble Overbey, mother Mae Riggles Overbey and several siblings. Lynn graduated from Carlisle High School and met the love of his life Janet and married her on February 28, 1959, in Vincennes, Indiana. He went on to work for the State Highway Department for many years. He loved to farm and enjoy the outdoors. He loved to go fishing when he had time to go. Working was one of his favorite things to do. He loved his family very much spending time with was also important to him. Watching IU and Vincennes Lincoln play basketball and cheering them on and getting onto the refs for the bad calls was exciting to him. He will be missed by all! Funeral services celebrating the life of Lynn Overbey will be held Friday, February 11, 2022, at 11:00 am at the Goodwin Sievers Funeral Home Gardner Brockman Chapel 505 Main Street Vincennes, Indiana. Officiating will be Rev. Robin Overbey, Jon Overbey, and Bill Sam Phegley. Interment will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery in Vincennes, Indiana. Under the direction of Goodwin Sievers Funeral Home Vincennes, Indiana. Visitation will be held on Friday February 11, 2022, at 9:00 am until service time at the Goodwin Sievers Funeral Home Gardner Brockman Chapel 505 Main Street Vincennes, Indiana.
