Rev. Franklin Henry Schroeder, a devoted Presbyterian Minister, passed away on April 29, 2024, at the age of 88. Born in Los Angeles, CA, on December 18, 1935, he dedicated over five decades of his life to serving and shepherding his congregation with unwavering faith and compassion.
Throughout his illustrious career, Reverend Schroeder had the privilege of ministering in various churches, imparting wisdom and spiritual guidance to all who sought his counsel. In addition to his spiritual leadership, he shared his knowledge as a professor of sociology and anthropology at Vincennes University from 1964 to 1984, shaping the minds and hearts of countless students.
An avid adventurer, Franklin found solace and joy in the open road, whether cycling long distances or cruising on his beloved motorcycle. He possessed a deep appreciation for the beauty of nature, frequently traveling to the Atlantic coast of Florida to bask in the sun and immerse himself in the serenity of the beach.
Franklin Henry Schroeder is survived by his beloved spouse, Carol Graham; children, Cassandra Carson (Jeff), Charity Frey (Norman Swartz), Kimberly Fane (James), and Lynnette Klein (Bill); grandchildren, Jenna Wilson, Ian Wilson, David Frey, Michael Frey, Laura Fane, Lindsay Klein, and Kristin Summerfield; and 11 great grandchildren. Franklin is preceded in death by his parents, Albert and Sarah (Lindsay) Schroeder; brother, Keith Schroeder; and grandson, Justin Fane. His legacy of faith, kindness, and dedication to his community will forever be cherished and remembered by all who knew him.
A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm at 207 S. 9th Street, Vincennes, Indiana, 47591. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of Franklin
