Gary Deckard

Gary Grant Deckard, 72, passed away at 3:30 am on March 28, 2015 at the New Willow Manor Nursing Home. Gary was born on December 26, 1942 in Pontiac, MI the son of Grant Issac and Ermil (Blagrave) Deckard.Gary worked for Prudential Insurance for twenty five years and attended the First Church of the Nazarene. He served his country in the United States Air Force, was a member of the American Legion and VFW Men's Auxiliary, and enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends.Survivors include his step-mother, Anna Mary Deckard of Corydon, IN; wife, Jean M. Manis of Vincennes; sons, Gary M. Deckard of Brown County, IN, Steven Deckard of Mt. Juliet, TN, Matthew Deckard of Gallatin, TN; grandchildren, Rachel, Adam, Aaron, Noah, and Will Deckard; step-sister, Jackie Armstrong of Marango, IN. and step-brother, David R. Post of Corydon, IN. Gary was preceded in death by a step-brother, Robert E. Post.Graveside services for Gary will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at Memorial Park Cemetery with Pastor Garret Sloan officiating. The All Weather Firing Squad will conduct Military honors at the gravesite. There will be no visitation and Goodwin Funeral Home is handling arrangements. In Lieu of Flowers contributions may be made to the American Lung Association.
