Gary Michael “Mike” Davison, 77, of Vincennes, IN passed away June 7, 2024, surrounded by his family. He was born in Vincennes, Indiana on June 11, 1946, to the late Leaola (Briner) Vantlin. Gary was raised by his parents Lee and Vernie Vantlin in Vincennes and Fritchton, IN, graduating from Fritchton High School in 1964. After graduation he joined the United States Air Force and was stationed at Bunker Hill until 1968. Gary retired from Western Southern Insurance Company.


Gary was an active board member at the Forty and Eight and was also a member at the American Legion, the VFW, the French Club, and the Harmony Society. Over the years, he developed many meaningful friendships which provided him the opportunity to lend a listening ear and provide transportation and moral support to many of those friends who were experiencing their own health crises.


Gary is preceded in death by his parents Leola and Vernie Vantlin and grandson Benjamin Wagner.


He is survived by his children Brent Davison (Tanya Holt), Krista Wagner, Gina (Jack) Burgess, TJ Harkness, Alesha (Andrew) Crowley, and Winnie Harkness; grandchildren Austin (Morgan) Wagner, Davison Wagner, Preslee Burgess, Jagger Burgess, Silas Crowley, Nash Crowley, Katelyn Holt, Kallie Holt; great-granddaughter Paislee Ray; and his faithful canine companion Hoosier.


Gary’s quick wit, sense of humor, and gift of banter will be deeply missed by those who knew and loved him. Per Gary's wishes there will be no services held. Donations can be made in Gary’s name to the Vincennes Lincoln High School Athletic Department, 1545 S.
