Geneva Davis

February 10, 1924 — July 14, 2021

Geneva Davis, 97, passed away at 4:30 am on July 14, 2021, at Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, IN. Geneva was born on February 10, 1924, in Westphalia, IN the daughter of Henry and Rebecca (Thombleson) Jett. She married Norman Davis on June 27, 1947, and he preceded her in death. Geneva had attended First United Methodist Church in Washington and managed the Jeffersonville License Branch in Jeffersonville, IN and worked at the Washington License Branch. She was a 1942 graduate of Washington High School and was a lifetime member of the VFW. She enjoyed making quilts, working crossword puzzles and researching family genealogy. As a young teen, Geneva performed as a contortionist and for USO shows in an all-girl band. Survivors include her daughter, Janie (Mike) Copple of Columbus IN; grandchildren, Michelle Copple and her spouse Linda Copple, Kim Stone, Kenny Latham, Chet Latham, Rodney Latham and his wife Suzan; special great-grandson, Michael Huber, twenty great-grandchildren; twenty great-great grandchildren; and four great-great-great grandchildren. Geneva was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Norman, sons, Robert Davis and George M. Shroyer III, brothers, Judson, Joseph, Duke, Pete, and Carl Jett, her sisters, Mary (Cleon) Bottom and Juanita (Les) Breeden, and a granddaughter, Peggy L. Copple. Also preceding her in death, her son-in-law, Mike Copple, and daughter-in-law, Patricia Davis. Visitation for Geneva will be held Sunday, July 18, 2021 from 4 pm - 7pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State St., Washington, IN. Additional visitation will be held Monday, July 19th, 2021 from 10 am until the service on Monday at 11 am at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home. Geneva will be laid to rest Bicknell Memorial Gardens Cemetery. Online memories may be shared with Geneva's family and friends at www.goodwinsieversfh.com. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Riley Childrens Hospital or St. Jude's Childrens Hospital.
