Genevieve Evans

Genevieve M. Evans, 84, of Vincennes, passed away at her son's home in Washington, Friday, December 23, 2011 at 7:00 pm.She was born December 2, 1923 in Monroe City, IN to John Daniel & Gladys Esther (Wesley) Evans.Genevieve had worked at Good Samaritan Hospital as a Nurses Aid and was a member of the Franklin Heights Christian Church.Genevieve is survived by her son, Michael Frances (Wini) of Washington, a brother, Robert Evans (Delores) of Vincennes, and a sister, Bessie Biggs of Vincennes. Also surviving are 4 grandchildren, Jonathan Frances, Jennifer Tarpley, Angel Frances, and Billy Frances and 5 great grandchildren, Noah, Evan, and Wade Frances and Gavin & Keagan Tarpley. She was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Fleet Evans, Herbert Evans, and Louis Evans, and two sisters, Thelma Cates, and Grace Cooper.Funeral services will be at 2:00 pm Tuesday, December 27, 2011 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Don Smoot officiating. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery in Monroe City. Visitation will be from 11 am until service time Tuesday.
