George Hendricks

George J. Hendricks, 87, of Vincennes, passed away at 12:57 pm Monday, January 6, 2020 at St. Vincent's Hospital.He was born December 9, 1932 in Dubois County, Indiana to Cleo and Bertha (Parsons) Hendricks.George retired from Vincennes University and had also worked at Prestolite.He served his country as a Corporal in the Army during the Korean Conflict in which he was a squad leader. A member of the First Baptist Church and the Christian Motorcycle Club, he enjoyed golfing, fishing, and riding motorcycles.Surviving are his wife Donna Rae (Coonce) Hendricks whom she married June 25, 1955; his children Karen Ramsey and her husband Jerry of Greenfield, Melissa Smith and her husband Justin of San Jose, CA; his brother Gerald Hendricks of Vincennes; daughter-in -law Valerie Hendricks of Vincennes; his grandchildren Dustin Bonhomme, Leslie White, Jason Hendricks, Aaron Hendricks, Stormey Wiegman, Alec Smith, Nolan Smith, and Peyton Smith; along with several great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents; a son Jeff Hendricks; a brother Everett; and a sister Delores.Funeral services will be held at Noon on Saturday, January 11, 2020 at Goodwin Funeral Home with Rusty Thorne. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the service. Burial will follow in the Memorial Park Cemetery. Goodwin Funeral Home is honored to serve the family of George Hendricks.
