George Strodtbeck

George K. Strodtbeck, Jr. 77, of Vincennes, passed away June 6, 2011 at Good Samaritan Hospital. Born June 19, 1933 in Middletown, OH, he was the son of George Kirk & Helen (McNeil) Strodtbeck. His parents preceded him. George had been a pharmaceutical represenative for Lederle Lab. After retiring, he drove buses for I-V Coach Lines. He was a member of the First Church of God, the Masonic Lodge, and the Gideons. For many years he was active in area youth sports, having coached YMCA football, Little League baseball, and church league basketball. George also volunteered as a counselor at the Southwest Indiana Youth Village, and was an admissions participant for West Point recruiting. Survivors include his wife, Janet (Sebald) Strodtbeck; children George ( Alanna O'Connor) Strodtbeck III of Indianapolis, IN, Victoria (Les Hamilton) Truitt of Morristown, IN, Robert (Pamela) Strodtbeck of Orlando, FL, and Sheri (Greg) Vance of Carmel, IN; a sister, Sarah Bayless of Boseman, MT; a brother, Thomas McNeil Strodtbeck of Hamilton, OH; and his grandchildren, Joshua Strodtbeck, Claire Strodtbeck, Stephanie Brant, Sarah Strodtbeck, Kyle O'Connor, Jason Kokotkiewicz, Jacob Kokotkiewicz, Charlotte Strodtbeck, Richard Strodtbeck, Jessica Vance, and Sam Vance. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, June 8, from 4:00 - 8:00 at Goodwin Funeral Home, 524 Broadway. Funeral services will be held there Thursday, at 10:30. Interment will be in Upper Indiana Cemetery. Donations may be made to the Gideons. Online condolences may be sent to the family throught goodwinfamilyfh.com.
