George Edward Tabor, 76, passed away on July 11, 2024, at Bridgepointe Health Campus. Born on August 2, 1947, George dedicated himself to his work, owning and operating Lincoln Trail Carpet for 35 years, providing exceptional service to his customers. His work ethic and passion for his business earned him the respect and admiration in our community.
Aside from his professional accomplishments, George was an active member of the Upper Indiana Presbyterian Church, finding solace and community in his faith. He also cherished his time out in nature, finding peace in the openness of the great outdoors. George's love for hunting and fishing led to memorable moments, including proudly catching the biggest fish that the Wabash River had ever seen. George was also member of Ducks Unlimited and the Boat Club.
George is survived by his companion, Marietta Haase; daughter Michele Taylor (Dave); son, Brett Tabor (Paula); Marietta's children, Dane Haase and Tisha Haase (Burt); brother, Jim Tabor ; sisters, Mary Lou Pruett and Barbara Ward; grandchildren, Nathan Taylor (Missy) and Jarod Taylor; Marietta's grandchildren, Gavin Benock (Delaney), Delaney Haase (Kaylob ), Demi Wagler (Justin), Kendyl Newman; and Marietta's great grandchild, Wrenleigh Wagler; best friend, Rick Ray and his fishing buddy, Mark Hearns; and several special nieces and nephews. George is preceded in death by his parents, Hanford and Mary Tabor; brothers, John Tabor (Madonna) and Bob Tabor; sister, Carolyn Pierce; sister in law, Susie Tabor; and grandson, Derek Taylor.
Per George's wishes, funeral services will be private. Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care of George.
