Georgina Rose Williams

September 5, 1944 — December 12, 2024

Georgina Rose Williams, 80, of Washington, IN, peacefully went to her Heavenly home with her husband by her side on December 12, 2024, at 6:30am at Daviess Community Hospital.

 She was born on September 5, 1944, to the late Gilbert & Evelyn (Noland) Shaffer, in Knox County, IN. Georgina attended Bicknell High School and was a member of the graduating class of 1962.

 Following high school, she married the love of her life James “Jim” Williams on August 5, 1962, and they spent over sixty-two years happily married. Together, they had two children, James & Jessica.

 Georgina was a Piano Teacher for several years, and taught lessons to countless people at her studio on Main Street in Washington. She was also the co-founder of Daviess County Friends for Animals, specializing in dog rescues to those in need. She was a member of the Veale Creek Baptist Church and was especially proud of her Faith. She was always involved in something going on at the church and she was proud to do so. Georgina loved animals, and loved to rescue dogs that needed loving homes. She was proud of her family, and loved spending time with them, especially her grandchildren.

 Survivors of Georgina include her husband, Jim Williams of Washington, IN; her children, James Richard Williams and his wife Shelia of East Bernstadt, KY, Jessica Renee Dejarnett and her companion Ronnie Ikemire of Vincennes, IN; grandchildren, James Clayton, Holly Pierce, Heather Peck, Hailey Cathers, and Talia Dejarnett; granddaughter-in-law, Casey Evans; great-grandchildren, Morgan Piece, Leroy Pierce, Aiden Williams, Abby Williams, Jason Cecil, Korbin Cecil, Kreen Evans, Nova Evans, and Caroline Evans.

 She was preceded in death by her parents, Gilbert & Evelyn; and her grandson, Kyle Evans.

 Visitation for Georgina will be held on Saturday, December 14, 2024, from 11:00 – 1:00pm at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 2020 State St., Washington, IN 47501. A funeral service will begin immediately following with Pastor Doug Frances officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to: Daviess County Friends for Animals P.O. Box 402 Washington, IN 47501. Donation envelopes will be provided.
