Gerald Due

Gerald "Gerry" A. Due, 91, of Vincennes, passed away March 11, 2016, at Good Samaritan Hospital.Gerry served as a radioman, 3rd class, on PBY aircraft, while in the US Coast Guard. After his graduation from Indiana University, he began an apprenticeship with General Motors, which led to a 36 year career at GM. Gerry retired from GM as an assistant comptroller.Born in Freelandville, IN, on December 15, 1924, he was the son of Simon and Hilda (Kixmiller) Due. His parents; a son, Brian Timothy Due; and a sister, Ruth Roark, preceded him.Surviving is his wife, Thelma (Anderson) Due; his sons, James Due and his wife, Gail, of Tucson, AZ, and Eric Due and his wife, Michiko, of Seattle, WA; a sister, Mary Alice Campbell and her husband, Gene, of Westphalia, IN; his grandchildren, Simon E. Due, Sara Nicole Due, and Whitney Alexandra Due; and a daughter-in-law, Hazel Grant.Funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Cheryl Garbe, on Tuesday, at 3:30, at Goodwin Funeral Home. Friends may visit with the family from 1:30 - 3:30 on Tuesday at the funeral home.Donations may be made according to the wishes of the donor.
