Gertrude Ada Burch

Gertrude Ada Burch, 92, passed away February 19, 2025 at BridgePointe Health Campus. Gertrude was born on March 23, 1932 in Vincennes, the daughter of Clyde Roscoe and Eunice (Lone) McCord. She graduated from Bruceville High School. She married Kenny Burch on March 4, 1949, and he preceded her in death on November 22, 2012. 

Gertrude was a proud homemaker. She enjoyed gardening and canning. She was known for her hospitality of cooking dinners for family and friends. Gertrude loved music, especially country and gospel and enjoyed playing the piano. She loved the Lord and was an active member of Franklin Heights Christian Church. Very important to her was time spent with family and friends.  

Survivors include her son, Brian (Karen) Burch of Bruceville; grandchildren Jill (Mike) Carnahan, Amanda (Christian) LeFaure; step-grandchildren Jason and Michael Westfall and 4 great grandchildren and 5 step-great grandchildren. Gertrude is preceded in death by her parents Clyde and Eunice McCord; husband, Kenny Burch; daughter, Denise Barker; brothers Bruce, Cleo and Malcolm McCord. 

Friends may visit with Gertrude's family from 5-8 P.M. on Monday, February 24, 2025, at Goodwin-Sievers Funeral Home, 524 Broadway, Vincennes, IN 47591. Gertrude's funeral service will take place at 10:30 A.M. on Tuesday, February 25, 2025, with Pastor Matthew Smith officiating. Gertrude will be laid to rest in Memorial Park Cemetery.
